I haven’t really been worrying too much about rest days for the past few weeks since my rest days usually happen on their own due to work, travel, or both, but I’m definitely going to take one today even though I actually have time to train. I’m starting to have a little trouble sleeping and my RHR has climbed ~10 bpm from what it was last week.
Maybe I can just keep this kind of thing in mind in the future. Most days I don’t really feel like I need rest days, but keeping track of a few stress indicators will help me to feel out the situation and let me know when it’s time to dial it back, eat some food, and take a day off.
So yeah, not going to worry too much about this one. Time to relax and rebuild.
